Feature Request: Layout for vertical window

One of the ways I use HCE is as a virtual board when reading a book. See below HCE and Kindle side-by-side. The problem here is that due to the layout, the board has to be very small. Ideally I would want the board on top of the notation.

Can you consider making the layout more customizable or at least address the layout in the special case of a vertical window? Many thanks!

Interesting idea, although I am not sure if it will be easy to implement.
