Email Game Function

I am using the IOS version.

I have email setup on the phone and working with Gmail as the default client. I have had it working previously using the same setup.

Yet currently when I try to email a game I get a message saying I need to setup mail on the phone before sending games.

Please explain how to get email function working on IOS.

That feature has been around since 2008/9 so I am surprised to hear this. It works on my iPhone and iPad.

It may be you need to activate gmail in the iOS mail settings, go to Settings->Mail->Accounts->Gmail and turn the Mail app selector on. Without that iOS would prevent the HiarcsChess app from using the Mail app.

If that fails to resolve it, please let me know what version of iOS this is so I can investigate this further.

Thanks for your reply.

It's working now. I didn't have my Gmail account listed in Settings->Mail->Accounts. Apparently that wasn't necessary for the Gmail client to work. But I added the account and that allowed me to send PGNs.
