Time controls

Post by Foobarred1 »

As a feature request, is to add a time control option to delay as an increment vs. accumulation.

Thanks,

I think he is referring to a Bronstein delay. So a game would be say 30' plus a 5" delay before clock starts on each move. A much used system in USA weekend tournaments.

Interesting, I thought this was one of (many) Bronstein's ideas which were completely forgotten.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, UCI standard does not support it so there is no way to pass this to the engines.

The Grand Chess Tour used this time format (delay, rather than increment) in 2019, IIRC.
