actually there are some differences between DGT Rev II's and those sold by Ruud

i opted to buy a new Rev II AE board and not just the upgrade unit
so i also have no stickers on any of my Rev boards all bought from Ruud

the DGT stickers are one small difference but a more important difference is that the serial numbers issued by DGT are a different sequence then the ones issued by Ruud
you can find a few threads here discussing that issue

what i think is highly collectable are the Certificates of Authenticity that Ruud had been issuing with the release of the RevII

Serial Numbers Regards
Steve
I do recall following those threads prior to placing my order. I was torn between ordering my original Rev II through Ruud or Chess House. I ultimately went with Chess House, just because of the wonderful customer service that I've received from them over the years.

However, I did order the upgraded processor through Ruud, and hopefully the emulations from him also one day soon!

Congrats on the new AE board purchase.

Interestingly
For Rev II AE boards the certificate of Authenticity does not show the Serial number ranges like the REV II certificates do

@Steve, I think this is the same text in small caps and the ranges are the same as far as I can see.

Is that correct Regards ?

there is no range given for AE as there is for REV II
look under your name on the Certificate
there is a range....
"(exclusive serial range-010001-010999)"

there is no such range given for AE on certificate

Hmm, your serial is #010251 so I guess on are in the range as all regular Rev II.

That's an explanation Regards,

First AE of Ruud.
Good
I consider Ruud's computers more collectable than DGT's
all of my Rev's II's are from Ruud(Phoenix)
I have the first serial number from every computer he ever released(except Rev II..here it is 2nd)

nothing against DGT ...but its always better to buy from the Inventor himself if possible

Straight From The Source Regards
Steve
