This was the key position where MCGP allowed Ruffian a passed central Pawn that couldn't be stopped.

The MCG PRO, the original Kaufbeuren 2016 winner, underestimated the strength of Ruffian´s attack. Ruffian always seemed to be one ply ahead.

Here is the result in the match Mephisto Atlanta (Michael P) against Resurrection Ruffian:

[Event "Casual game"]

[Date "2017.06.04"]
[Round "-"]
[White "Mephisto Atlanta"]

[Annotator "lichess.org"]

Ruffian was quite lucky as Atlanta tactically outplayed Ruffian in the early stages.

[fen]2r3k1/4R1p1/1p1p3p/NB1P1b2/1P3p2/P4P2/3n2PP/6K1 w - - 0 33[/fen]

As you can see from above positionally Ruffian was in a mess.

But fortunately Atlanta may not have found the best moves to get a win so had to settle with a draw with a Pawn advantage.

Final Position

[fen]8/6p1/5k1p/8/5P2/4RK1P/2r3P1/8 w - - 5 63[/fen]

Well that put a stop to Ruffians slim chance of winning this Tournament or even finishing a clear second. Best Ruffian can do now is tie for second place with Hiarcs if it wins its last two games :)

ps... had a lot fun playing Michael P. he is a fun character :)

best regards

The game between Mysticum Aristarch 4.5 and MCGPRO was a queen opening which black chose a slav defense and went to a Czech variation. Black went out of book on move 12 white on move 14. Up to move 24.Rad1 it was an even game.

[fen]7r/p2k2p1/2pbpq2/3n3p/P3Q3/2PB1P2/1r1B2PP/3RR2K b - - 3 24[/fen]

But in the above position MCGPRO played 24.. Ra8 after this move position eval went from +2,34 to +3,55.Then, the position eval keep going up and up. On move 46.Qd3+ Mysticum Aristarch anounces mate in 13

[fen]2q5/p4Rp1/3kn3/2p1p2p/P1P5/3Q1B2/6PP/7K b - - 2 46[/fen]

I believe this is the second game where a machine anounces mate in 13 like Atlanta did against Reflection Vancouver. Here is another test for other machines also.

Unbelievable what a bad game. And what a bad tournament of the MCG Pro.
Yesterday and today I played 3 black games (on behalf of Paul) with exactly the machine that won Kaufbeuren, but 0 out of 3. And such bad games...

Today the Game

Montreux vs his brother (father?) Risc2500 (2MB) ended with a win for the Montreux. Both (with the Montreux first) missed their chances to strengthen
their strategical possibilities ... after blunders of both sides Montreux won the game.

Hi Ricardo, not possible - I will play against Nick today.
Tomorrow morning (lets say beginning 6:00 a.m Berlin time) would be my only chance this weekend ...
