Benjamin wins game 1. Rybka team say there is a bug in the contempt setting.

Rybka is White
Where did you see that??

The game seems to be

1. d4 Nf6 2. d5 Nxd5 3. Nh3 Nf6 4. Ng1 Ng8 5. e4 Nc6 6. Nf3 Nf6 7. Nc3 e5 8. Bc4 Bb4 9. O-O Bxc3 10. bxc3 d6 11. Re1 h6 *

and this is not finished...

They are playing it again as a friendly from where Rybka blundered. After changing the contempt setting to 0.

hi Harvey

here is the ending position for the second game:

[fen]r2q1rk1/1b4p1/p1Rb3p/1p1Pp3/4Pn2/4QN1P/PP4PB/2R2B1K w - - 13 39[/fen]

white is clearly ahead but of course Joel's flag was ready to fall so we have a draw

how does h11.2 score the position for white?
i am betting it is higher then just a pawn plus

Joel Rulez Regards

I believe you helped finance the match Steve, am I correct? If so, the computer chess world owes you a debt of gratitude! Kudos!
This match could set the computer chess world on their heads!;As long as GM Joel Benjamin keeps focused.

I checked the Rybka site and over half voted that they would prefer Rybka to win!

A Turning Point in Computer Chess History? Regards,
Terry

hi Terry

no i had nothing to do with this match

but i did contribute already to a possible REMATCH with Gm Benjamin having Draws Odds against Rybka

Rybka would be fully loaded with Noomen book and Table bases but a draw for the GM as black would count as a win in the score table

the rematch is not yet definite though..
alot will depend on the outcome of this match but things are looking good so far

Fingers Crossed Regards
