2 X Par Excellences on ebay for you to choose from

Post by Larry »

You can have this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... 7477426722

Or, if you prefer, this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... 7481001940

Admittedly, the second one has a couple of days to run. Would'nt you
be peeved if you had got sick of waiting for a Par and bought the first one?
I'm not sure of how ethical it is for the seller of the second one to make
reference to the first one, but I guess all is fair in love and war.

Pays to have patience (something I never had)

Yes, I am very tempted by the second one : I have moved to the USA last week and have to wait for two months for my sea shipment containing my chess computers to arrive...
Buying this Par would allow me to play and to plug other Fidelity computer later with this 110V power supply.

Alain, welcome to America. I refer often to your website. Hope it's being shipped over with your chess boards. :)

It will be interesting to see how high the Par Excellence that is up for regular bidding goes. The two units are being sold using diametrically opposite approaches to selling a collectible. Personally, I prefer Fidelity's Designer series that I believe has the same Excellence (Designer Display 2000) and Par Excellence (Designer Display 2100 & 2265) program. You get a similar game, but with the extra info from the LCD display.

Hi Alain,
I'm representing the HFNS (Hiarcs Forum Nosey Squad).
Could you please let us know what prompted you to make the move
to the USA? Business reasons?...just not happy with French economy,
perhaps? What part of the USA are you moving to?
In any case, I hope everything works out ok for you. Your English
seems ok, so no language barrier.
all the best,
Larry

Hi Larry,
no problem with France at all, I just wanted to have a new experience, both on the professional and personal point of views, i.e. this is not a "one way" move and we will return to France in a few years.
And this is in Seattle's area (weather is ok so far ;-) )

One Par Excellence gone for $113. Probably less than the guy was expecting, but that's what happens when an allegedly rare collectible ends up on eBay with several others.

Well done! IMO there are too many Pars out there to justify $500, but $89 is very reasonable. If I was spending a few hundred for a plastic board it would be for a Fidelity Designer 2265 or somesuch.
