Phoenix Revelation I on eBay
Hello,
Here it is: http://www.ebay.de/itm/rare-handmade-Ph ... 280wt_1114
Start price is: 3599EUR
It is a nice machine but I think totally overpriced especially when you know that the Revelation II has been just announced by Ruud for about 2800EUR.
Enjoy the bidding.
Fabrice

Best José
but being a Rev I owner i cant help but have that "Been there done that"
feeling with the Rev ll
aside from piece recognition the engines are all the same at this point
hopefully the new Marvell PXA processor will add at least 300-400 Elo points to the playing strength
Deja Vu All Over Again Regards
Steve

And Here The Seller tries again to sell it
this time there is a "Reserve Price"
probably very close to the first auctions starting price of 3600 Euro
i guess this guy is clearing the decks for the coming Res II
http://www.ebay.com/itm/rare-handmade-P ... 1012935504
if he really wants to sell he needs to sell it for a price well below the original cost
perhaps 1500-2000 Euro ..take the loss and mark it off as the cost of having and enjoying the board for 2-3 years
no way folks will buy this at as price higher then the coming Res II
Abandoning Ship Regards

Reserve STILL not met
my guess is that the bidding will stop at around 1750-2000 Euro ..
the Reserve will NOT be met and we are back to square one
Deja Vu Regards
Steve
In most (if not all) circumstances and particularly in this I find a Reserve to be a contrivance. Most people with the sophistication, intelligence and experience to be bidding on a unit like this know that the starting bid is a figment of someone's imagination and has no meaninng whatsoever. And there's something counterproductive (in this case) about people having to try to find out what the real starting point is.
Until proven otherwise, I think the seller is hoping to get the same inflated price, or thereabouts, as with the original failed attempt.
When I first researched the best ways to sell on eBay, a consistent bit of advice was to, almost always, avoid a Reserve. It's simply better to start the bidding at your minimum price-point or start from zero and let the market determine the price. With a very expensive collectible such as this, I think it best to start with your minimum making sure that it coincides with the reality of the market place.
End of Rant Regards,
Dave
