2265 v 2325 (plastic playoffs)

Post by Reinfeld »

I have the first, not the second. Wish I had the second. Some day, perhaps. I keep looking.

Has anyone pitted these two against one another? I know Spacious Mind is unmoved by contests between machines from the same programmer. I sympathize, but it still intrigues me. Evolution intrigues me.

A while back, I ran a few games between 2265 and Designer 2100 Display, just to measure relative strengths. I didn't record the moves, but it was no contest. Both machines set at default levels, no adjustments, no tuning, and 2265 crushed its older sibling. Would the result be similar in a match between 2265 and 2325?

P.S. - The match that begs for full treatment is Mephisto Master v. Star Diamond. That's the reasonably affordable plastic Super Bowl, excluding hard-to-find specials (RISC 2500, Berlin Pro, etc.).

Stats:

1. Wiki-Elo
Star Diamond
2183 2159 2123 2112
Mephisto Master
2160 2140 2076 2156

2. Selective search
Star Diamond - 2176
Mephisto Master - 2101
