Fidelity Super 9

I thought I'd put this one up, since they are still a rarity, although seemingly
not as rare as they used to be. Nothing like an economic downturn to bring
out the collectables. I think Fernando was enquiring at least jokingly about
getting one of these. He may have one by now. The voice on this one is
faulty, so we don't know what language it's meant to speak. Otherwise, it
seems like a good one.
Stinking hot day here, I'm heading back downstairs,

Hi Jose, so this means you are the seller? Good news, you are known
to be a person of high integrity, and apart from the voice problem the
unit appears to be in very good condition.
best of luck,
Larry

I did'nt know there was ever an upgrade to a V9, only V11. Incidentally,
I recently received two(!) emails from a German couple asking if I'm
interested in an upgrade to a V11. If I had a non functioning EAG2100,
for example, I'd go ahead with it, but you sure as hell would'nt even
consider butchering a V9 to make a V11.
Mine is a genuine V9. The serial number is just one different from
SteveB's V9. I did'nt know they were so rare, but I saw why when I
looked into schachcomputer.info and saw what they cost when new.
Fidelity had no clue when it came to pricing, it seems.
Here is the text of the most recent email from the German couple:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr Harper,

thank you very much for being interested in the upgrade to version 11 of Fidelity’s ELITE chess computer (please note that you must have a chess board of the Elite, I only deliver the circuit board!). After having checked the availability of the necessary parts for manufacturing the circuit board, I found that prices for them have risen quite a lot, so that the price for the upgrade board will be 2,490.00 EUR (approx. 3,500.00 USD), excluding shipping cost, including a warranty of six months. This price also includes the repairing of small technical defects concerning the chessboard. For further technical details please refer to the attachment. In case of being interested in this offer please send me a short message and I’ll inform you about further details of the ordering process.

Best personal regards,

Wilfried Bucke
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A good opportunity for some, but alas, I'm unable to go ahead with it.

Hi Larry,

Fidelity do upgrades and also Mr. Bucke do upgrades, so it is possible that some EAG´s looks from the chassis like a other version as the elektric inside the computer is...

Like my EAG. Serialnumber is V2 and inside is V6. Upgrade made by Fidelity.
