I don't think there's any doubt about it. Obviously, collector's items values appreciate in direct proportion to the interest collectors have for those items. And, these days, a primary indication of that interest is the discussions about those items on forums like this. Overall and unfortunately, from my vantage point, those discussions on all chess forums are pretty anemic.Larry wrote:The other week a Fidelity Travelmaster went for ~$23. This week a
Mephisto Nigel Short goes for ~$40. Both these auctions went the
full distance.
You guys don't suppose we are
seeing dedicated chess computers entering a deflationary cycle here,
do you? Others on the German forum were commenting recently on
this also, with one suggesting the younger generation are simply not
into the hobby as much as the oldies.

generally when someone acquires a new old chess computer or when something strange appears on Ebay the posting activity peaks a bit
soon i will be receiving a VERY RARE chess computer .some would say..the Holy Grail of chess computers
one i have been searching for over 56 very long..hard and brutal years
ill make a few posts about it and probably play another 10 game match
with it against another computer as i did with the Fidelity V5 and Rev-Hiarcs 13.3 earlier this year

Package is on my front porchMythbuster wrote:Ups!
Never thought I could be faster than you Regards,
Sascha
the UPS Guy rang the door bell ..left the package there ..ran back to his truck ...hit the gas ..and sped off like a Nascar Racing Champion..
by the time my wife answered the door bell he was long gone
the only evidence that he was even there are the tire marks the truck left in the street
its too heavy for the wife to drag inside
hopefully it doesn't rain today
Sigh Regards
