Mark Uniacke v the Mephisto Risc

Post by Harvey Williamson »

Mark just showed me a blitz game he recently played v Mephisto Risc. There were no take backs. Level was norm 10 secs.

He said, "the moves I played were very risky I am not sure I would play it over the board as it probably was not sound but I wanted to play something exciting and intuition said it might work.

Hiarcs of course says the game is severely flawed, black could of won by playing 21..Bc5+ but played Qc5+ instead, I thought I was winning at that point. Earlier I saw the idea of the Bb2 controlling h8 for a mate or a N+R mate when I played Ng4. I was planning the Q sac on h6 as an idea for force mate and when I played Qh5 I roughly saw the line played in the game, a little bit speculative but it looked viable. I missed the check on c5 completely. Kh8 by the rsic was crazy as soon as it did that I thought I might be able to mate this thing."
