If this one had made it to market, with a production run of 1000 units, it
would be selling on ebay now for way more than the risc2500/montreux
are currently bringing, IMO, given it is an Ed Schroder. Notice if you click on the back of the box
diagram text it says they gave 512kb ram as standard, and 256kb rom,
which would indicate the ARM6 processor. It also claims a playing strength
of 2250elo, which might not have been far off the mark.
It may actually be the program that went into the RISC2 module. I have
a fondness for dedicated machines as opposed to modules.
Still, no good wallowing in pity for what might have been. BTW, it's possible
a few of these experimental machines made it into the wild, so someone
might own one. Anyone have any more info on this model?
