432 Euros..! I thought maybe half that.
To my knowledge the 10mhz Polgar was the only 6502 powered program to break the 2000 Elo barrier.
No problem, we can just wait five years for the next 10 mhz Polgar to come along.
BTW, was the buyer (or seller) anyone here?

Not me that won the auction but i agree it is a high price
i have paid high prices for chess computers i was searching for so i can understand the reason the buyer paid it
sometimes you just want the computer and you dont care what it costs
i played a match here many years ago against Mark Uniacke
we each used a dedicated computer and did not reveal the name of the computer until the end of the game
when the game ended we had to guess which computer the other side was using
we both guessed correctly
Mark won the game using the Saitek Simultano
i used the Polgar 10 Mhz

Imo super forte/Expert C, milano / nigel short or polgar came close to this elo barrier.
