Re: New Chessnut Air+
I would have bought this board if they went with 81 LED this time.
Not only there is an issue with the LED being blocked by the pieces sometimes
It feels strange if I turn the board around. Because of the changing LED orientation within the square.
Back to my good old Renaissance.

Yes, the lack of 81 LEDs can be a problem and using the ChessNut Air myself I sometimes didn't see movement information, but you have to give them credit for developing/improving the product line at an almost astronomical rate, which is very gratifying - there are never enough manufacturers of such equipment.

Re: New Chessnut Air+
I really like the cosmetic look of the Chestnut Air except as you say, the board's LEDs are at the back of the squares instead of the front which aren't easy to see.
I do rotate the board when I play with it and use Chess Dojo which is a great chess app.
Another thing I have done is to replace the knights as the original one's were for me too big and looked more like a dragon than a horse
I can't really see the logic behind releasing a wooden version of the Air as the original one also in my eyes looks wooden and is better looking than the new design.
One thing that I do like about the Chessnut Air is the build quality and how quick and easy it is to use.

Hi Bryan,
I also play against chess dojo with the board turned around.
Even taped over the coordinates. It was confusing this old brain

Re: New Chessnut Air+
I agree Murat. I was hopeful that the next release of the board would have four LEDs per square. It is not as enjoyable to play with this board when the LED may be hidden.Murat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 8:17 pm I would have bought this board if they went with 81 LED this time.
