This is rare, you have to celebrate, mine looks like it was manufactured yesterday, nothing works.

Hi Steve,
This is the bad part of this story, knowing that the last one who pretends will die.
By the way, would it be so difficult to find a hero to repair them,
I imagine that this person if he finds the way, he will earn a lot of money.

Thats a good question
i dont know anyone here in the States that can fix chess computers
if i did i would have repaired the broken 2100 instead of paying $1400 for the one that showed up on Ebay
i used to have two very good contacts that i used many times over the years to repair my chess computers
but as the years go by...like our computers ..we grow old
Sadly.. they passed away

Just One more game to verify that the 2100 is still working

the only thing remarkable about this game is that my Fidelity Travel Master still works
the Tmaster's claim to Infamy is that it had the highest defect rate of any dedicated chess computer ever sold(some where around 90%)

both computers somehow manage to not break during the entire game with the Tmaster pulling off a convincing win
Hello Steve
See the Steve scene, one more for the collection, a wrong fidelity project and another broken one for the electronic chess gallery

Hi Steve,

My question out of curiosity when you put a computer on the table, how long do you stay with it playing and then switch computers?

Thats a good question Oswald

for most of my years collecting(since 1977) i would play with a computer no more then a week then move on to the next
mainly because many new computers were being offered every month or so
however for the past few years i now stay with one computer for several weeks ..even a month or so ..before i move to a different one
the reason is that far fewer dedicated chess computers are being offered since the rise of the PC chess engine
most recently i am playing the EAG 2100..i play against it and i am matching it against several other computers so i guess you could say i am not just playing it alone

Slowing Down Regards
Steve

As long as we are spending money on chess computers, we are alive.

My lie detector just flashed red. Chess computers and chess in general is a virus with no vaccine.
Admit it, you are hooked and your coffin will have a chess board cloth draped over it. Take heart
though, you are not the only one.

Hi all,

Sadly this is so true …

My Bowel Cancer has returned and is now at Stage 4 and has spread. In February I was given less than 6 Months to live without Chemotherapy, but with successful Chemotherapy to slow down the inevitable, I’m not expected to last until Christmas …

Needless to say Chemotherapy #4 of a possible 12 (reviewed after 6) is this coming Thursday the 4th of May.
