Wireless is what it says it is, without wires. Bluetooth is one of many technologies to communicate wireless...

................. PS: I still think for world computer chess champioship all the entrants should be on the same hardware (whatever chosen) then it tends to be simple to know what is the best chess playing SOFTWARE I strongly agree. Same H/W makes the most sense. I'll go that one more by saying, I o...

I've had Sigma Chess for Many Years, but these days I find that I use Scid as my main chess interface. Exachess 4 is my second choice, but it's still beta since the UCI support is unfinished.

Hiarcs for iPhone/iPod touch?

I know Mark probably doesn't have anything to do anyways, but I have to wonder if an iPhone app is in the plans.

HGM is working on winboard/xboard. Doubt any other GUIs support this yet, since there is no standard yet. Since Shredder uses "Threads" itself, it is likely that if Stefan does decide to update the standard, that is what will be used. I believe he has been contacted, but I have not yet hea...

I had one of those 1650 Tabletop Radio Shack units for many years. Abused the heck out of it. I always beat it the few times I played it on the highest level, taking hours waiting for it to move. Now on the low levels where it played almost instantly, I rarely beat it. :(

The main difference between node counts is between position evaluation vs search. Engines that emphasize node count and get very high numbers rely very much on extra depth and tactics to for their play, They are very good at tactics. Hiarcs puts more emphasis on knowledge, so it will take more time ...

Hiarcs in OpenWar

It would be nice to see Hiarcs entered into the OpenWar. I'd suggest doing something interesting like entering it with a gambit only book and set to aggressive style.
