Re: Chess for Android: 6.5.2

Hello chessfriends, Acid Ape hurts the community by charging the driver to play with DGT, but as some people pay, it stays as it is. best Oswald No-one is obliged to use it or pay for it. I did and four years on I’m still happy I did. At the present time it’s still the only option for some aspects ...

Seems like a fairy tale today that will be reality tomorrow, to quote your own signature.

I once made a couple of bicycle frames from raw tubing. I could have just bought them I suppose, but where’s the fun in that.

Re: Chess for Android: 6.5.2

Probably everyone here knows that I'm a fan of the Acid Ape app. But I've recently been using Chess for Android - which I had tried some years ago and not really melded with - and I'm really impressed. I find it most useful for playing endgame positions and so on because AAC has a more convoluted ap...

Re: DGT Pegasus vs Millenium eOne | Fight!

Definitely the Certabo boards for me. Hardware top class and the software runs very smoothly and a big bonus for me is that the software includes MessChess which supports the chess computer ROMS. Customer support is second to none with Pietro their CEO only a WhatsApp away. Their EGO board is very ...

Re: DGT Pegasus vs Millenium eOne | Fight!

I think the Pegasus is far more stylish. Clean minimalist design appeals to me.

Re: New DGT Pegasus online chess board

Years ago, ACC had a unique selling proposition. The support of the DGT boards went really well there and was free at the time. This support has not been free for a long time. However, Khadim's WhitePawn app has outperformed the ACC app as it is free, ad-free and supports pretty much every board fr...

Re: New DGT Pegasus online chess board

I'm a fan of the DGT boards - I have the Centaur and a bluetooth board that I use with Acid Ape. I hope Acid Ape will support the Pegasus soon, at which point I'll almost certainly get one. I love the Centaur as a simple straightforward computer, but it has two main drawbacks: size and the lack of a...

Back from the dead and an apology

I haven't been active on the forum for some time. Mainly because I haven't been playing much chess over the last couple of years. But I've recently started again and yesterday I remembered that this forum exists and came to check it out. And came across some of my own bumptious and often combative n...

Re: your pices

I know I'm not the first to do this, but the youtube link below takes you to my demonstration of DGT Centaur, using my own converted chess pieces: https://youtu.be/HUZBVXCvuAw Yours pieces got a lot better, apparently the developers don't have much idea of the proportion of the pieces on the board,...

wrt DGT maybe a successful Regium would take a bite out of their monopoly on e-boards but I'm sure DGT would release their version of an autoboard shortly after with full backing of FIDE, Chessbase and the online services. I doubt it. DGT's core business is tournament equipment, this would be a big...

The most befuddling thing about all this is why anyone would scam chess geeks, if this really is a scam, which has yet to be confirmed. Seems like a pretty niche market.

Yeah I find it almost more stressful when the game is going my way than when I'm down.
