Re: Feature Request for 1.4 - show WDL evaluation when analyzing a game

Show WDL evaluation when analyzing a game. A lot of chess GUIs can do that. I was thinking of: :D +0.19/50 (10/85/5) 8.Qb6 9.Qc1 Be7 10.c3 O-O 11.g3 a5 12.Bg2 cxd4 13.Nexd4 Nc5 14.O-O Bd7 15.Qc2 Ne4 It's a great feature which will help you a lot when analyzing played games. For example if you don't...

Re: Hiarcs 15.3

Thanks Mark. There's a new option in the engine configuration for H15.3: Limit Book Knowledge. My understanding is that when I play against the engine at a reduced ELO level, e.g. 1400, the book knowledge is already limited in several ways. So what happens if Limit Book Knowledge is selected as wel...

Look here:

It's from a previous version, but I believe the parameter has the same effect.

Re: Deep HIARCS with Ryzen 7

Have you tried setting up the correct number of physical cores in the parameters (I assume 8 for your CPU, mine is 4)?

Opening play

I generally play against the engine (H15, H15.1 or H15.2) at a set ELO of 1500. H15 and H15.1 are generally out of book around move 10 to 15 and then start thinking, but H15.2 is very often out of book by move 5 or 6 and then starts thinking. From that point, it can play one of the good book moves o...

Engine style

With the latest version (1.2.1) of HCE Pro (Windows), I noticed that when I play a game against H15.2 set up with a specific style (e.g. solid) and then play another game, the style has reverted to default (active), so I need to select solid again. Has someone else noticed this? Not sure if this is ...

I have a question. Please write if anyone knows how many threads the HIARCS 14 chess engine supports. Of course in HIARCS Chess Explorer for PC.

Re: Analysis window during played game

Yes, I noticed that too. There's always a delay before the analysis is displayed. And if you take back a move, sometimes the analysis doesn't show up at all. It was more or less the same with the previous version of Hiarcs Chess Explorer. Not a major issue thought. Why does the analysis window somet...

Re: Need help filtering the tree

Thanks, Horatio, but I still have problems. Please refer to the screenshot attached: I opened the database with my games ("alle_meine_games"), set up the position and see the tree view, e.g. "3. e5" which has been played 28 times. But those 28 times are me and my opponents (mean...

Re: Need help filtering the tree

Hi, I loaded the database with my games and want to see how I perform with a specific opening, let's say Caro Kann. So as far as I understand I would have to filter the database to games where I was Black. I absolutely have no clue how to accomplish this, though I have used the help sections tree a...

I analysed this position, but I'm also unable to reproduce the problem - version 15.1 gives about the same score than version 15.1.

Yes, that would work.
