Re: Square Off Pro driver for Windows
Hi Luft, Square Off have decided, unlike all the other board manufacturers, that their business model will be to sell both boards and subscription services. I think that is unfair for the original backers and also unfair if they aren't making it clear to new purchasers, but at the end of the day the...

Re: Chessmaster
Hi Pat. Unfortunately not. There is nothing in the Winboard (or UCI) protocols that allows an engine to take back a move, or even send a new position. It can only be done if the GUI author makes amendments to their program to allow it and it's clear that Ubisoft have no interest in Chessmaster any m...

Re: Chessmaster
Hi Jarek, The days when it was just Certabo/Millennium (and Novag UCB) are some time ago! Now I have drivers for Certabo, Chessnut, DGT, DGT Pegasus, Millennium, Novag Citrine, Novag UCB, Saitek OSA, Square Off Pro and Tabutronic. And you are right, for Arena, Fritz/ChessBase, LucasChess and Shredde...

Re: DGT board in HCE Pro only for Windows platform
My drivers already have a UCI engine option so if HCE allows you to play an engine vs engine match (one of the engines would be my UCI driver engine) then you can already use Certabo, Chessnut, DGT, DGT Pegasus, Millennium (including eOne), Novag Citrine, Novag UCB, Saitek OSA, Square Off Pro and Ta...

Re: eOne - The online board from Millennium
There's one small, but important, detail missing from my eOne documentation that doesn't apply to the other Millennium boards. If you want to connect it using USB then it seems you have to turn off Bluetooth on the board by pressing the third button, labelled BT/Rook. Otherwise it won't connect. I'l...

Tabutronic driver for Fritz etc
I have released my new driver for the Tabutronic Sentio board for use in Arena, Fritz, LucasChess and Shredder. For other GUIs (HIARCS, SCIDvsPC etc) there is also a UCI engine option. There are Windows and Linux versions. It's currently USB only but I'm sure BT will be added later. https://goneill....

Saitek OSA driver (Windows and Linux)
I was asked about writing a driver for the OSA boards (Leonardo, Galileo and Renaissance) and saw that Achim Pietig had already written "OSA for Arena" so didn't expect it to be too hard. I was wrong! It's taken two months with Achim doing lots of testing for me and Lars Nowak also helping...

Chessnut driver (Linux)
My Chessnut driver now works in Linux, but currently only for USB connections. It requires the HIDAPI library and a Qt5 library to be loaded so please read the ReadMe PDF file for instructions. Since only LucasChess on Linux can support this there is also a Linux UCI engine that can be used in engin...

eBoards: Linux UCI engines
Only LucasChess on Linux can support my DLL/SO library drivers so I have converted my Windows eBoard UCI/Winboard engines to run in Linux. The library I use for BluetoothLE still isn't available for Linux (they tell me it will be next year) so currently the drivers available are: Certabo Chessnut (U...

Re: Saitek Leonardo for sale
With a huge amount of help from Achim Pietig and Lars I'm also working on a driver for the Saitek boards with an OSA cable. So you'll be able to use the board natively in Arena, CB-Emu, Fritz/Chessbase LucasChess and Shredder using the DLL version, and in other GUIs using the UCI/Winboard version. A...

Re: eBoards in HIARCS - UCI engines
Would be great to be able to use your driver for the Square Off Pro with HCE Pro - I'd enjoy playing using HCE Pro If you select the option 'UCI/Winboard engine' when installing my driver it will load the file SOP_ENG.exe into the folder you select. You can then load this as a UCI engine in HCE. Se...

eBoards in HIARCS - UCI engines
I had some requests to make my drivers work in Chessmaster and since that only talks to engines (not the DGT interface) I created versions of all of my drivers that interface using both UCI and Winboard protocols. I've been told that these work well with HIARCS (and Chessmaster!). One of the problem...

UCI/Winboard engines for eBoards
I had some requests to make my eBoard drivers work in Chessmaster but that program only talks to Winboard engines so my DLL files couldn't work. I have now created versions of my drivers that run as chess engines using both the UCI and Winboard protocols. So now you can use your eBoards in Chessmast...
