I got mine for $80 AUD locally - everything mint except the box. I'd say anywhere between $250 - $500 USD for a unit with everything in mint condition. So maybe $100 - $200 USD for an incomplete unit with broken cover.

I have a few I've been trying to sell for a while with limited success. Including a mint MB Phantom and mint Scisys Leonardo and a MMIV+HG440 module set with not one single offer for any :( I'm wondering if the cost of shipping is putting buyers off for the Phantom and Leonardo. High shipping costs...

I really like the design of his boards! I had a 2000, 2100 and a display 2100 :) The thin-ness of the boards appealed to me most compared with the clunky looking excellence series. It was very sleek overall and the size was perfect for a smaller board with the playing field centred and taking up the...

Yes prices has definitely fallen IMO especially at the lower end of the market. Collectors seem to only be after rare or mint condition items to expand or upgrade their collection respectively. Prices seemed to peak five or so years ago. I have a few I've been trying to sell for a while with limited...

Ok I just started a game vs. the analyst C, level =g8 99/1h30. It replied 1. ...c5 to 1.e4 instantaneously. Funnily enough the clocks were counting up and not down though. It was a nice win for me in the end. I will post later :-) So I would try removing the book rom, U3 slot, and playing without th...

I think your module is corrupted. I don't believe there is a "no book" function. I don't believe mine would always reply e5 to e4. I will do some tests tonight to confirm. Can you please tell me how many RAM chips your module has and the type of chip? I only got one RAM chip in mine! In an...

Near mint Scisys Leonardo

Hi just letting my chess computer friends know that I've listed my near mint Scisys Leonardo on ebay here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192251342919?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 It's a little on the pricey side but you don't see a whole lot going around in this condition. I'...

Hi all, I finally got around to uploading the pictures of the MMIV/HG440 modules and MB Phantom to my flickr page. All the chess computers are still available so if you're interested please make an offer soon otherwise they'll be going up on the dreaded ebay. I also have an official Portorose 1989 1...

I had the Carnelian which came in a similar if not the same casing. It's not real wood. It's plastic. I'm sure the alto is plastic too. Thank you for the info. Yes the case looks practically identical. I wonder even more why and how the grain in different units looks different though. Did they that...
