Might be worth checking if the Mephisto pieces were provided later in the production run. I assume that the Elegance was sold over a few years and not just 1984.

Re: Fidelity Elegance
Hi all
Whilst prominent members have boards with the smaller Fidelity pieces, if you look at the many of the images and videos online, many, if not more have the Mephisto brand. Even our own Berger has a video on YouTube with Mephisto pieces. European market machines perhaps?

Elite Avant Garde Chess Pieces
Hello all
Bit of an ask, but does anyone have a complete set of chessmen for an EAG they are willing to sell. I believe that the king is 3.5 inches.
Trying to restore a Mobile Master to its former glory.
Thanks
Dave

I guess it's time to fess up about the module. It's not a genuine Fidelity but one made by the well known modder. It is labelled Library Module Tournament. I got it recently and assumed it would be a copy of the CB9 but it's not. When installed it will not cycle through alternative book moves with t...

Thanks for your replies. It does seem the various functions are working with the CB9 installed it’s just that the lines are so narrow there is often no alternative move given. For instance 1. d4 is only responded by d5. Whereas without the module various replies are given by pressing RV. The manual ...

Fidelity SC9 / SC12 and CB9 Module
Hi all I always assumed that the difference between CB9 and CB16 was the choice between cost and book size. However, the advert flyer included with the SC9 states a more than subtle difference between the two modules. Wide and shallow or narrow and deep. Having acquired a CB9 I have two questions. I...

Hi all I am hoping that someone on the forum is familiar with the Monte Carlo (Morsch) to explain the use of the Book button. On the Monte Carlo IV (Schroeder) There is a Book Mode - explained in the manual. There is no mention of a Book mode in the original Monte Carlo or as far as I can see a sing...

Hi Lars Thanks for your help with the manual' I have now fixed a new back up battery. I used a simple holder which is not much larger than the battery. I used part of the soldered supports from the previous battery as connections and a few drops from a glue gun to fix the holder flat to the motherbo...

Thanks for your replies. I did think of a straight soldered replacement of the battery. But have decided to get a battery holder and wire that in and the glue gun in place. that way the battery can be replaced relatively easily in the future. As an aside does this count as a mod? Will the purity of ...

Monte Carlo Internal Battery
Hi all My Monte Carlo has a coin cell battery which is fixed (soldered) to the motherboard on three legs. The battery is unfortunately depleted. Have others dealt with issue. Of course I could just remove and resolder but thought i'd ask about it anyway. On a different issue does anyone have a link ...

Hi all Hoping for further advice on the VCC. I have one which while working has most segments of the LED display not lighting. I have swapped the display diodes block inside the red plastic housing and get the same result. My guess is that the segments logic is not working correctly. Any ideas what ...

Does Excalibur Chess Wizard Have a Fundamental Flaw?
I have two of these machines. One is the original Einstein, the other the later chess wizard. Both will not complete a full game without "crashing". This takes various forms but not long into the game the display can either become corrupt, lock up or go blank. I was suspicious about them o...
