For Sale (UK) Chessnut Evo
Hi Well that did not last long some folk may be thinking?! My brother Ian and I were keen to support the Kickstarter campaign as a company making innovative products although pretty much knew before delivery that it would not be ideal for our solely local (no online) engine v engine games. Also part...

Re: Power Chess by Sierra. ..Any of you?
Replying to Quintrian, if you have those two discs, the same as mine, converting them to iso images will run if prepared to install Virtual Box, Windows 98 within it and then install Power Chess. The two Power Chess 98 discs on the Internet Archive site will also work by the same method but need to ...

Re: Power Chess by Sierra. ..Any of you?
Hi Fernando Unfortunately there is no easy way of bundling the way used to run. What I can do is see after installation of Power Chess 98 on Windows 98 in Virtual Box if the files it installs can be ported out of that virtual system back into Windows 10 and then try Windows 98 Compatibility mode. Th...

Re: Power Chess by Sierra. ..Any of you?
Update. The two discs for Power Chess 98 on the Internet archive site were in a bin disk image format, which Virtual Box did not recognise on my Windows 10 setup. Downloaded a small freeware program called WinBin2Iso which converts the bin file to an iso format disk image. Virtual Box running Window...

Re: Power Chess by Sierra. ..Any of you?

Re: Power Chess by Sierra. ..Any of you?
Hi Fernando Your query piqued my interest as have just finished repairing a cheap Toshiba 486/50 laptop from the mid 90s running Windows 95 and enjoying running WChess and Rebel Decade on original kit rather than an emulator in a modern Windows OS. Noticed the Power Chess 98 original CD outfit on eB...

For sale. Phoenix Millennium T 55 UK only, new boxed
Hi folks A new Millennium Phoenix T 55 cm board and engine module for sale by my brother Ian if any interest. We've both been keen hardware chess computer fans from the days when could only afford a Tandy 1650 so the flagship appealed. Sadly in his small flat shared with partner it is not working ou...

Re: Novag printer problem and Super Conny internal access
Hi
Many thanks, did not expect a service manual to be available. Notice it does not mention disassembly so presumably should come apart when all screws are out which they are. There is evidence it has been opened before maybe it was glued back.

... should have added for the Super Conny no screws or clips that seem to have missed other than the screws visible on base and under feet.

Novag printer problem and Super Conny internal access
Hi The Novag printer that have acquired does not print the full width as shown on output enclosed. Have tried cleaning the head with slip of paper and alcohol as recommended on some online resources for thermal print head units but no improvement. As head scans wondered if something was blocking ful...

Re: Help: Schematic / Pinout for Adpter: Novag Printer --> C
Hi Steve
If you have a mo' sometime the width and diameter of the rolls would be useful. Would imagine printer takes a smaller capacity than say a cash register.
The manual suggests a 24V AC mains adapter not 24V DC, is that correct.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Help: Schematic / Pinout for Adpter: Novag Printer --> C
Hi Steve
OK, thanks, will seek out a suitable adaptor.
A follow up query. What modern printer roll code is suited for printer. The instructions note to use Olivetti not Texas Instruments so presumably differences. The spec given does not relate to a modern roll.
Thanks.
