Your information is sorely lacking. Mark has published clear proof that rybka 1.6.1 has huge chunks of Crafty code. And I am talking evaluation code, not some parsing code. A function EvaluateWinner() was copied 100% unchanged. He copied other pieces of code. Some of which even had bugs. He copied ...

The evidence seems strong that Rybka 1.0 is largely derived from Fruit, with many sections being direct copying, rewritten from mailbox to bitboard. MANY sections? What percentage of the program? The only thing that seems indisputable, true according to nearly everyone, is that sections of such thi...

If the ICGA board decide that Rybka 1.0 beta does contain significant amounts of code from fruit 2.1 then i think we will see at the very least the world championship titles won by the Rybka 1.x series taken away and the title given to the second placed programme. There were no such titles, so that...

its looking a bit like the Computer Chess equivalent of the Bernie Madoff financial fraud case given the time and scope of the deception Sober Regards Steve Don't lose your head like many of the people in the various fora have done on this. Bernie Madoff caused a huge loss of money for many people....

Don Dailey - What the comp. chess community needs to decide
Don Dailey, one of the authors of Komodo, wrote this at TalkChess. Here is the text for those who don't like to follow links: There are several issue concerning various programs that have raised a huge amount of controversy and have generated a lot of different viewpoints. I would like to try to sor...

I agree, and I tend to believe that there are not Fruit parts in Rybka 3, though I'm certainly not a good enough programmer to hold any authority on the matter. Nonetheless, I definitely trust what Larry Kaufman says here. Instead, I think that the important question is whether it is okay for Rybka ...

I think that this is precisely the type of position where IDeA should be the primary tool for extracting useful information from the situation, if anyone has time to get that rolling and do a lot of interactive analysis with it--I think that you would quickly (in 1-2 days) come to a solid conclusion...

During the Hamsters-Fish match, Turbo was bailed out by his co-captain when he was caught in a traffic jam. :-) Thus, I w...
