Re: YoYo's Fidelity Serial Number Theory

We need more German serial numbers to see pattern - if there is one.
I found these SN in my collection of Playmatic S:
- Fidelity Playmatic S SN: 763043
- Fidelity Playmatic S SN: 763563
- Fidelity Playmatic S SN: 763464

Re: YoYo's Fidelity Serial Number Theory

I verified the 3 German EAS. They all speak German. - serial #763741 and Serial #763842 are Budapest. - serial #764666 is definitely a modified computer and certainly not a Pre-Budapest. The 3 computers have photos at http://chesseval.com/WoodBoard/EAS.htm . Please, let me know how I could help you....

Re: YoYo's Fidelity Serial Number Theory

I still have doubts of the Elite A/S 764666 (http://chesseval.com/WoodBoard/EAS.htm). How could it be a Pre-Budapest when it's serial number is much higher than the 3 Budapest with 763741, 763807 and 763842? Maybe if the owner of it could open it and take photos of the components inside, we could g...

Two EAS-C were listed in ChessEval and are part of the collection: - Elite A/S, Budapest, made in USA, speaking English, Serial #43285755 EAS-C - Elite A/S, Glasgow 1, made in USA, speaking English, Serial #43285606 EAS-C In fact, the "rare" EAS-C was existing in 2 versions: Budapest and G...

Hi Nick and Mike, I have the Excalibur 932ED-2. On the box, it is a photo of the computer with its name "Excalibur" (nothing to do with the logo of the company that is written on the left side of the box). For sure, the computer itself has the name "Excalibur" written just under ...

It seems that the legend III was the portable version of the Avenger...
I don't have it...
So, I am not able to do a comparison on the hardware side... but it could be interesting to see to that issue.

Hi Josh,
Rare indeed and working with the Mephisto module MMIV.
Hans van Mierlo was writing a very interesting paper on the Turbo Kit 20. He got his TK20 from Ed Schroder.
For more details, see:

Yes, I confirm. It exists minimally 2 different models on the hardware side:
- one with a H8/3214 microprocessor and a clock at 2x16MHz;
- and a second with a H8/3614 and a clock at 20MHz.

Hi John, Great! Now that you mentioned it, I do remember too: there was a version for Apple that was based on a database issued from the CybercChess of Norbert Mikun. Iit makes sense that MIkun was developing several versions for each platform at this period... and Apple was one of the most popular ...
