Re: Quiet Chess Computer Year -2020

Maybe Millennium will offer a tournament size board to use with our Fisher and Genius modules? A tournament-size board seems like a no-brainer for Millennium. Although, I'm easily satisfied with the current board which definitely hits the sweet spot. We should all pitch in and buy something for Ste...

Johan has already fixed that little problem, an updated King version 1.41 will become shortly available. Dear Ossi, It’s a minor problem with a known workaround, but we’ll look forward to the 1.41 update. The new version of The King Element was a nice surprise for the holiday season! Thank you for ...

Please take note: Settings like speed, play style etc. will not take effect on the comfort menu and the Elo / adaptive levels! All that settings will be ignored in the Elo / Adaptive levels. Mythbuster, My understanding is that only the Comfort levels (A0 - A3) adapt to the user’s playing strength....

Hi DaMaBu, I’ve confirmed the bug you reported with the Comfort level not sticking. If you enter the Options menu, even without changing any settings, the Comfort level will reset to A2 Normal. I haven’t seen it change the level while just playing a game to completion. If the ELO/Easy levels work li...

Hi Ray,

I had a PC emulator running on my Mac before, and the hassle indeed outweighed the benefits. If a solution isn't forthcoming soon, I'll just take my board over to a friend who has a PC.

Thanks,
-Eric

Hi All, Has anyone gotten the installer to work on a Mac? The Update program doesn’t open at all for me, even using the right-click menu trick to open non-Apple approved apps. I’m running the latest "Big Sur" OS. I never had any problems with previous Millennium updates, but I believe the ...

It worked!! It built the first time I tried it on my Mac. Thanks for posting your instructions. After I built it using Homebrew, I just copied the “lc0” alias that was in my “usr/local/bin” folder into my Hiarcs Engine folder. Then, I added it to my list of engines in the Hiarcs preferences. It load...

Hello DaMaBu, Welcome to the forum! I'm pretty sure that the specialty books are just subsets of the master book using pointers. I too have noticed that the King falls back on the master book after exhausting lines in the specialty books. I was planning to do more research on this, but haven't gotte...

Hello Ossi, Welcome to the forum! First, I’d like to thank you for your long list of contributions to the computer chess scene. If there were a lifetime award given out, you would certainly have earned it by now. Second, your latest products from Millennium are simply fantastic! Both the King Perfor...

Reinfeld, It's great to see that you're restarting your matches with the ChessMaster personalities. This is always a fun topic. But, I don't think your sample size of 6 games per match will give you very accurate results. I think you need to be running 50 or 100 games per match. So, maybe you could ...

SteveUK's email address is ggm-engineer@blueyonder.co.uk He also makes nice replacement PCBs for Mephisto 16/32-bit displays using different colored LEDs. He does Green, Yellow, or White versions, all on black backgrounds. The PCBs are his own design and seem to be of very high quality. One benefit ...

Reinfeld, This looks like a great tournament. Thanks for posting! I heard there were hoops to jump through to get CM 9000 to run on newer Macs, so I haven't bought a copy. Can you tell me if there's anything special you need to do to run it on the latest OSX's? Also, I heard that the latest OSX, Cat...
